Bengaluru Tech Summit 2026 (17–19 November): A Founder's Guide to Getting Real Value from BTS
Updated 24 October 2026. Check the official Bengaluru Tech Summit website for registration, passes and the final agenda.
Every November, Bengaluru hosts one of Asia's largest technology events. The 29th Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS 2026) runs 17–19 November 2026 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), with the theme "AI & Beyond".
For a first-time or early-stage founder, it's a huge opportunity and an easy way to waste three days. Here's how to prepare.

Who should go
- Deep tech and AI founders looking for investors, partners and government programmes
- B2B startups selling to enterprises, manufacturers or government
- Founders from beyond Bengaluru, including Shivamogga, Mysuru, Hubballi and Mangaluru, who want exposure to the Karnataka ecosystem. Karnataka's Startup Policy 2025–2030 explicitly targets startups outside Bengaluru
- Students and freshers exploring careers in AI, cloud and DevOps (see our courses)
If you run a local consumer business (a café or salon), BTS is less directly useful, though it's great for learning.
Two weeks before: get "look-up ready"
Everyone you meet will check you on their phone, often while you're still talking. Make sure what they find helps:
- Website: a clear one-line description of what you do, who it's for, proof (customers, pilots, numbers) and a way to book a call. If you don't have one, a simple, fast one-page site is enough. See launch a business online in 30 days
- LinkedIn: updated headline ("Founder, [Startup]: [what you do] for [who]"), banner, a pinned post about what you're building
- One-page pitch / deck: problem, solution, traction, team, ask. As a PDF and a short link
- Demo: a 60-second demo video on your phone that works without Wi-Fi
- Contact: a QR code that opens your WhatsApp or booking link
One week before: plan your three days
- Register for the right pass; check whether Future Makers sessions need a separate application
- Study the exhibitor and speaker lists; shortlist 20 people or companies you actually want to meet
- Message them in advance on LinkedIn: one line on who you are and why a 10-minute chat is worth their time
- Pick sessions that match your sector; don't try to attend everything
- Plan logistics: BIEC is on Tumakuru Road, far from central Bengaluru. Allow for traffic, carry water, a charger and comfortable shoes
At the summit
- Lead with the problem you solve, not your product's features
- Ask more than you pitch: "What's hardest about X for your team?" gives you research and openings
- Take notes right after each conversation, with one detail you'll mention in your follow-up
- Post on LinkedIn each day: one insight from a session or conversation; tag people you met (with permission)
- Visit the startup showcase even if you're not exhibiting; other founders become partners and customers
The 48 hours after: where the value is
Most event contacts go cold within a week. Follow up fast:
- Within 24 hours: a short, personal message to each meaningful contact, mentioning your conversation
- Within 48 hours: send the promised deck, demo or proposal
- Book the next step: a call, a pilot, an intro
- Log everyone in a simple CRM or spreadsheet with a next action and date
- Write one LinkedIn post summarising what you learned. It keeps you visible to everyone you met
Make the most of "AI & Beyond"
With AI as the theme, expect lots of noise. Investors and buyers will ask hard questions:
- What does your AI actually do that a well-prompted general model doesn't?
- What data do you use, and how do you handle privacy? India's DPDP rules are phasing in
- What does it cost to run per customer?
- What's your proof? Pilots, retention, revenue
Prepare short, honest answers.
Not ready to attend? Still useful
- Follow the sessions and announcements online
- Note which programmes and grants are announced
- Use the week to update your website and LinkedIn; many investors and partners research startups around big events
